How Do Funeral Directors’ Work?
Recognising that the first call to a Funeral Director can be difficult for many, particularly in the case of a sudden or unexpected passing, a member of the team at Murphy’s Funeral Home will endeavour to meet with the bereaved as quickly as possible at a time and location that is convenient for them. We find that people often prefer to meet face to face so that arrangements and requests can be discussed on a more personal level. We’re available for this at any time of day or night.
Following on from the first point of contact, we can look after all arrangements and make contact with all other relevant parties such as hospitals, the clergy, the cemetery, florists, musicians etc. We do this in consultation with next-of-kin and advise and guide them throughout the process, offering a sympathetic and personal service.
Sometimes people may wish to look after certain arrangements personally themselves and of course we are able to facilitate this and are available for guidance if needed.
Overall, we aim to guide our clients through this time in the most professional, personal, and empathetic way possible.
