Murphy’s Funeral Home

Dealing with bereavement can be a difficult time for anyone. At Murphy’s Funeral Home we endeavour to deliver a professional, sensitive service. When contacting us you can expect the following:

  • A sincere, personal and sensitive response.

  • Keen attention to detail in all matters.

  • A professional approach ensuring that all arrangements and wishes are carried out with dignity and respect.

  • A service that not only meets expectations but that always strives to exceed them.

  • An approach and manner that recognises that every bereavement and funeral is different and provides a flexible service to meet personal needs and wishes.

  • Someone who will be available throughout the process to assist, advise and guide you through this difficult time. Grief can often be compounded by uncertainty; we are available at all times to answer any concerns/queries you may have.

Recognising that the first call to a Funeral Director can be difficult for many, particularly in the case of a sudden or unexpected passing, we endeavour to meet with the bereaved as quickly as possible, at a time and location that is convenient for them. We find that people, at this time of grief, prefer to meet face to face so that arrangements and requests can be discussed on a more personal level.

Following on from the first point of contact, we can look after all arrangements and make contact with all other relevant parties such as hospital, clergy, cemetery, florists, musicians etc. We do this in consultation with next-of-kin and advise and guide them throughout the process.

Sometimes, people may wish to look after certain arrangements personally themselves and of course we are able to facilitate this and are available for guidance if needed.

We are available 24 hours a day. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our History

Murphy’s Funeral Home initially dedicated our services to the communities of Kilmaley, Inch, Connolly and surrounding parishes by providing comfortable and homely facilities in our Funeral Home, such as a private family room, tea and coffee, water, piped music and comfortable seating. We now provide a specialised service to people in other areas such as Ennis, Barefield, Clarecastle and further afield in facilitating those who wish for reposing to take place in a private residence or Church.

We offer expert advice and assistance in arranging funerals from home providing additional seating, signage, tables and other essentials, if required, to ensure maximum comfort and the orderly flow of people coming to pay their respects.

We endeavour to implement a traffic management plan to ensure the most effective movement and parking of vehicles in the area at the time of a funeral. We remain present at all times to liaise with family members, neighbours and those coming to sympathise and pay their respects.
